Pylaros
Pylaros
In this small and mainly mountainous part of Kefalonia you will find some of its most characteristic beauties. First and foremost Myrtos, the most popular and internationally renown beach of the area and of Kefalonia in general, and second but not less important, Agia Efimia, the scenic resort on the east side of Pylaros. Between the two coasts, Kalon Oros, and Agia Dinati mountains harbour many beautiful villages that you can find driving through green hills and roads. A distinct place among them is held by traditional village Drakopoulata, while in the whole area you will see traditional buildings that will take you to the older times. Monasteries of Themata and Palaiochersou are there to remind our rich religious tradition, while in Potamianata, home of Marinos Antipas you will see a statue of this great hero. The area’s morphology is ideal for the production of goods that have become famous in Kefalonia and all over Greece. Feta of Pylaros, thyme honey, bread baked in traditional ovens, and meat from the farms of Pylaros, have conquered Kefalonians and others with their insuperable quality.
