Antisamos beach

Antisamos beach

One of the prettiest and most popular beaches of the island. It is situated in Sami and its beauty can be compared to that of Myrtos. The view is spectacular and that becomes apparent to you way before you get there. The intense green of the slopes gives its place to the deep blue of the sea, thus creating an imposing vision of colours. Antisamos has been the natural set for the Hollywood production “Captain Corelli’s Mandolin” filmed in kefalonia in summer 2000. Those who have seen the film must remember the scene where Pelagia and Mandras dive in the sea playing and enjoying their love. This scene along with many others has been filmed in Antisamos, and the jetty was specially constructed for this purpose by the production technicians.
