Folklore Museum - Korgialeneios Library
Korgialeneios Library was founded in 1924 according to Marinos Korgialenios weel.
It was destroyed by the 1953 earthquakes and was reconstructed later in two phases. It includes collections of manuscripts, old magazines, books and newspapers that sum up to 62.000 volumes.
The Historic and Folklore Museum that is right next to Korgialeneios Library, includes exhibits from the Venetian occupation till the 1953 earthquakes that completely destroyed the tokens of civilization developed in the island till then.
In the museum you can admire utensils, jewelry, photos, ecclesiastical temples, historic documents, coins and local costumes, as well as a pre earthquake style bedroom.
