Archaelogical Museum
It is located in Argostoli and was founded in 1957 in an effort to replace the old museum that was destroyed by the earthquakes in 1953. It includes exhibits from the Palaeolithic Era till the Post Roman period that are displayed in three different rooms. In the first room one can find exhibits from the Paleaolithic and the Neolithic Era, in the second findings from the Mycenaean Era mainly from graves discovered on the island, and in the third room findings from Ancient Tetrapolis and from the Roman Cemetery in Fiscardo. In the museum lobby one can buy publications about the archaeological sites of Kefalonia.
